Meeting up with Francesco Gola, a very talented seascape photographer based in Milan, Elia decides to leave the city in search of epic seascapes. After a few unexpected snags in transit, they finally arrive in the Basque Country of Northern Spain. The strategic selection of a beach house on AirBnb works out perfectly by placing the team near some of the most beautiful cliffs and rock formations in the area.

Francesco breaks down the essential techniques for seascape photography as they work with different compositions and long exposures to create a smooth water effect. Even though the weather is not ideal, Elia and Francesco still come away with some beautiful shots. Then, to their complete surprise, they’re turned against each other in a head-to-head and ridiculous photography challenge.

No trip to the Basque Country would be complete without a visit to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, which was also used as Daenerys Targaryen’s Castle in Game of Thrones. Aritz Atela guides us in this amazing location as we capture the sunset.

Born in Italy, Pavia in 1981, when Francesco started taking pictures he immediately fell in love with the endless borders of the inner frame.

Photography is a source of inspiration that allows him to reveal the relationship between the outside world of Nature and the inside world of dreams, thoughts, emotions, desires and wishes.

It allows him to express himself with mental and emotional stimulation mixed with idea and vision and shape it into an art form. As a NiSi, f-stop Gear & X-Rite Ambassador, Francesco has a passion for the sea and for travels that let him visit some of the most iconic locations on this planet looking at them with different eyes.
