Welcome to Moments in Time Season 2! Though Covid-19 has halted production for the time being, we successfully filmed a new series of episodes before the global lockdown began. This new season begins in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Join us along the Pacific Ring of Fire as we kick things off in the Philippines!

This episode takes place entirely in the Philippines and it starts of featuring the well-known photographers, Jan Gonzales and Win Magsino. Next, we talk to Alecs Oncal, an incredible photojournalist, that is constantly on the front lines of sometimes very dangerous political and social events. She sends a powerful message that "we need more truth-tellers in this world." After that, we sit down with the founder of Bambike Ecotours–someone that has created positive change in local Philippines communities. Lastly, we photograph the Manila cityscape from the Torre de Manila with local photographer Jay Jallorina.

Win Magsino is a Manila-based professional photographer specializing in commercial and landscape photography. With a Fine Arts Major in Advertising Degree earned back in 2001, Win began his foray in the creative industry by starting his own business providing graphic design and web development services. The business has since scaled up, and, is now catering to the full spectrum creative needs of corporate and real estate clients. In his journey as photographer, Win has already won numerous photographic awards, from both local and international organizations, a testament to his excellence in the field, especially in producing fine art landscape images. The most recent and prestigious of these awards are his top honors in the 2020 Moscow International Foto Awards, 2018 Skylum Grand Winner, and the 2018 Wedding and Portrait Photography International or WPPI (Silver award ).

Win’s love for travel fuels his passion to create uniquely enchanting images of sceneries and moments in the places he has visited. Combined with his skills in post-processing and graphic design, Win is able to masterfully whip up the magical landscapes he is most well-known for.

Win is currently a Brand Ambassador of Fujifilm PhilippinesSkylum SoftwareGnarbox, NiSi Filters Philippines and Your Shot National Geographic Contributor.  As a representative for these brands, Win conducts talks and workshops around the country to share his experiences and inspire fellow artists, who share his passion for photography.

Alecs Ongcal is a Manila-based freelance photojournalist who holds a degree in Psychology (at De La Salle University in Manila). She started her career as a photojournalist in 2013 while finishing her degree, and has covered major news such as Pope Francis' 2015 visit, the Philippine Drug war, and Typhoon Haiyan.

Her work in Marawi City following the 2017 siege describes the story of the successful rescue mission by 1SRB troops of trapped military personnel deep behind enemy lines in the brutal Battle of Marawi.

Her story about the country's communist group follows the fight of communism in the mountains of the Philippines where the New People’s Army is celebrating 50 years since it took up arms. The armed wing of the Communist party of the Philippines is the oldest fighting communist guerrilla force in Asia

Alecs has contributed her works to various international wire agencies and local news outlets like the Associated Press, the European Press Agency, the National Press Radio, and Rappler.com.

She has also worked for UNHCR, ICRC, EDUCO, UNILAB, ABS-CBN News Online, and GMA News.

If she is not busy covering news or pursuing stories, she takes pleasure photographing pets for Paws & Click, a pet studio she is partnered with, and she also manages the marketing for her family’s framing business.
